A day hike in the Zagora palm grove

Oases, palm groves
Departure in the morning at 9 a.m. on foot or on the back of a camel for a two to three hour ride in the Zagora palm grove.
In the mazes of the paths, between the walls which delimit the plots, we will discover the irrigation systems, the crops of wheat, barley, alfalfa, vegetables, different according to the seasons.
The date palm, the brother tree of the man of the oases, always beside him, helps him, brings him excellent food for him and his animals, wood for the fire and for building houses, leaves to weave different objects….
We will pass through villages and meet many oasis inhabitants in their quiet lives where the notion of time is destroyed.
We will take a “picnic” break for lunch, in the shade of a palm tree.
The meal will be freshly prepared by our cook and will consist of a tagine, varied salads and mint tea.
Around 4 p.m., we will take the road again on foot through the palm groves and kasbahs to arrive in Zagora at the end of the afternoon.
